I&I student wins award at Welsh Intensivists meeting
Congratulations to Matt Morgan for his prize-winning presentation on “The changing face of sepsis immunology” at the Welsh Intensivists in Training Annual Meeting.
The meeting was held at the City Stadium, Cardiff, on 27th April 2012, and was attended by 60 doctors at various stages of their intensive care training from junior to consultant.
Among the delegates were Dr Chris Jones, medical director of the NHS in Wales; Dr Pete Matthews, Chairman of the Welsh Intensive Care Society; and Dr Anne Beaver, Head of Trauma at The Royal London Hospital, London.
A total of six intensive care trainees from all over Wales competed this year with their oral presentations for the 1st prize worth £50.
Matt is a Clinical Lecturer and first-year PhD student at the Cardiff Institute of Infection & Immunity, under supervision by Prof Judith Hall and Dr Matthias Eberl.
