Central Biotechnology Services (CBS) is a central “core” facility, dedicated to furthering the research and educational needs of Cardiff University and its surrounding community.

The service
We provide state-of-the-art, high-throughput laboratory facilities and technical support. Our service helps accelerate research, foster collaboration and the realisation of the University’s research potential.
Our academic consultancy provides support throughout a project’s life-cycle, from inception and planning to data analysis. In particular, our expertise enables us to develop researchers’ initial concepts into fully-realised and thoroughly sound experiments.
Quality management and technical accreditation
We have achieved ISO 9001 (quality management ) and ISO IEC 17025 (Technical competence) accreditation.
We are also an Applied Biosystems Authorized Service Provider.
